The purpose of Black Treasurers Investments existence is all about giving back to our community. We believe in making a difference by giving back service, time, showing love and harmony.

9th BTI Scholarship Recipient

Ladarius Irvin​

​Ladarius Irvin graduated with Honors from George S. Middleton High School, with a 6.21 GPA, from the Computer Game Design Magnet Program. Throughout high school, Ladarius balanced academics with meaningful extracurriculars and community service. He was an Honors student enrolled in both Advanced Placement (AP) and Advanced International Certificate of Education (AICE) courses. In 2023, he was recognized by CollegeBoard as a National African American Student for Outstanding Academic Achievement. 

 

His extracurricular and community involvement included being an active member of Model United Nations (MUN), National Honor Society (NHS), Science National Honor Society (SNHS), Technology Student Association (TSA), Dungeons and Dragons (D&D) Club, K-Pop Club, Chess Club, Electrathon (Electric Car Building/Racing Club), Tampa Bay Fossil Club, Students Demand Action Against Gun Violence, and the Kappa League of Tampa. He dedicated time to volunteering with the Kappa League of Tampa in addition to other community organizations such as Metropolitan Ministries, Black Treasurers Investments (BTI), the Delta Delta Chapter of Gamma Phi Delta Sorority, Inc, Hillsborough County Public Library Cooperative, the Coalition of Community Gardeners for the Healthy 22nd Street Garden Initiative, the Tampa Bay Fossil Club, and the Junior Achievement Program (also known as JA Biztown). In giving back to his community he assisted with sorting, packaging, and distributing meals and toys to families in need, distributing hygiene products to the unsheltered, helping to beautify the 22nd Street Community Demonstration Garden which is used to teach local community residents how to grow their own healthy fruits and vegetables, and mentoring youth in grades 5 - 8 on economic concepts, employability and workplace skills, and management of their personal finances (financial literacy)

BTI are proud sponsors of BTI Laker Cats since 1/1/2021.

BTI President, Jeffrey Amos is the Founder of Valdosta City Laker Cats out of Valdosta, Georgia. The team was founded in 2012.

3 Phases of Life

and the

University Area Bulls (football teams out of Tampa, Florida).

BTI President volunteers teaching the fundamentals of basketball to high school teens affiliated with Coaches Mentoring Through Basketball, Inc. BTI also make donations.

BTI Partners with Tampa Chapter (Delta Delta) of Gamma Phi Delta Sorority, Inc. Youth Auxiliary. This partnership includes a girls basketball team and adopting a neighborhood butterfly garden that BTI heads up the garden training.

The Dream Center of Tampa also serves as a programming partner of BTI.

Graduation

BTI has donated $500.00 each to 5 students as they have graduated from high school entering into the college of their choice.
